Hello Everyone!!!

The 2022 Season is almost here and I am excited to announce that we now have an Opening date.

We are going to open Wednesday April 27th for the season!!!

We are still not sure if carts will be going when we first open as we still remain wet in areas but we are hoping the forecast this week is easier on us then what they are calling for with snow and rain, but the weekend forecast and early next week looks good and we are sure we will be able to get the course in good enough shape to open for at least walking and hopefully carts too.

We will see our online tee sheet go live today at 12pm for members. This will be the only way to book tee times until Saturday, when staff will be in the Clubhouse again for membership purchases and taking tee times.

Lastly 9Teen at the Muni is back open with a new owner Howling Moon Catering. We look forward to Winona running and operating the kitchen this year and serving up great food to our Muni Members and guests. She brings with her a new menu filled with pub grub and home cooked daily meal specials, so make sure to drop by the kitchen window and welcome her to the Muni and try some of her delicious food.

Can’t wait to see everyone out golfing next week.

Opening Date!!!!

We have been getting lots of calls, emails, and texts lately about when The Muni will be opening for 2022.

With the current forecast and the fact that the course still remains very wet, our goal is to open the week of April 25th. This week we have chances of rain everyday and Easter weekend into next week remains very cold with chances of snow.

Please know that we are doing everything we can in the meantime to get the course ready for opening. The staff have walk cut the greens, raked what they can without the use of machines, and pumped out and back filled our new sprinklers.

The tee sheet will also remain closed until we can confirm a solid opening date, so continue to watch our website, Facebook, and Muni minutes for when it will open for bookings.

Lastly we have had people coming onto the course and hitting their own balls off the range tee. We ask that everyone remain off the course, practice range, and putting green until we open. This is trespassing and we are not doing all this work to get the course ready for the season to have divots all over the range tee or ball marks on the greens.

Golf is right around the corner, and finally the 2 week forecast is starting to look promising!!!

Below are important league dates and information for everyone to start planning and thinking about as we inch closer to the start of our 2022 season.

We still do not have an opening date set as the course remains very wet, but staff are doing everything they can without being able to put machines on the course.

Hopefully next week we will see some major drying, and the announcement of an opening date.

Until then at least we have the Master and the hope of Tigers return to keep us tide over.

Hello Everyone

With the golf season right around the corner, we have been fielding lots of questions about possible opening dates. At this time we still can’t give an exact date as we need a big shift in the weather to be able to start getting the course ready for play, but myself and the staff are ready to go once the conditions allow.

2022 will be a busy year at the Muni so please make sure to follow the Website, Facebook page, and Chronogolf events calendar to stay up to date on all things Muni. This season we will see our Men’s and Ladies leagues, Member Opening/Closing scrambles, Muni Men’s Invitational, and Our Club Championships.

Our 2022 Jr. Program will consist of a week long camp from July 4th to July 8th. Registration will open now for Jr. Members/ Children of Members first before opening to the general public on April 18th. Program information can be found on our website under the Jr. Program Header.

With January 31st right around the corner I wanted to send a quick Muni Minute with updates for the course.

February 1st we will see the reopening of our indoor golf simulator, and with all that snow on the ground where else are you going to get your golfing fix. Our Trackman 4 has over 100 golf course to play and its only $35 per hour. Tee times can be made by calling the clubhouse at 519-271-0214.

In February we also see our 2022 Early Membership deals!! In years past we opened on Friday’s and Saturdays only with limited hours, but with our Simulator the clubhouse will be open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 8pm, with the Early Rates ending on February 28th.

I look forward to seeing faces around the golf course again and the excitement for another season at The Muni.

Hello Everyone

It is with a heavy heart that I write this Muni Minute to inform everyone that on Friday January 7th, The Muni lost a huge part of it’s family with the passing of Karen Petrie.

Karen a 36 year employee of The Muni was the welcoming face in the clubhouse before and after our daily rounds of golf. She created relationships with hundreds of golfers over the years (even though she never played) and made sure everyone’s experience was the best possible. I know personally every time she stepped away from the desk the first question I would get asked is, Where’s Karen today? And for many we do not know The Muni without her.

The Muni family wants to send all our condolences to the Petrie Family, and will be hosting a celebration of life with the family come Spring at the golf course.

Karen you will be deeply missed by everyone at The Muni
