Happy Mother’s Day!!

Hopefully everyone was able to celebrate all the amazing women in their lives yesterday. Thank you so much to Winona and her staff for putting on an amazing Mother’s Day Brunch.

Yesterday we also celebrated the Life of Karen Petrie. Thank you to all the members who stopped in to show their respects for Karen and the family. She has been missed daily this season.

Course Conditions

The course is finally starting to dry up nicely!! We will be aerating the green early Tuesday morning and are expecting to see carts finally on the course when we open back up for play Tuesday afternoon.

We also are hoping to see the ability to get the range net back up and the range opened during this same timeline.

Course Conditions

The course remains very wet with standing water on every hole. We are doing our best to move water with pumps and to open today around noon. It will be walking only and the range continues to remain closed. We hope to see continued drying over the weekend to finally be able to have carts and open the range.

Muni Minute

Course Remains Closed!!!

We know that today is a beautiful day for golf!!! but the course remains unplayable, fully saturated with standing water everywhere.

We are continuing to do everything we can to move water and hopefully we can open tomorrow morning or afternoon. These are best case scenarios though.

This also means that we still do not have carts on the course and the range is also closed.

Meet the Staff

Left to Right- Olivia, Sofia, Scott, Claire

We have several new faces this year in the clubhouse, please make sure to check in before your tee times to introduce yourself and welcome Olivia, Sofia, and Claire to the Muni. We look forward to them joining the Muni Team for a great 2022 season.

Rain Rain GO Away

After another 32mm of rain last night and a staggering 45mm in the month of May alone. (yes it is only May 4th) The course will remain closed until further notice. The forecast looks great moving forward but we need to see some major drying before we can even handle walkers on the course again.

The clubhouse will remain open for anyone still looking to get their memberships or sign up for our Men’s league or Opening Day Scramble on May 14th.

The restaurant will also remain open for anyone looking for a delicious meal.

We hope to get back open as soon as possible but the reality is it could be Friday or Saturday before we can see play again.

This has been the worst Spring ever.

The 2022 golf season is here!!!

Our first two days of the season have been fantastic. It has been great getting to see everyone back out enjoying the Muni. The course although wet and soft in many places has been very playable and hopefully we can miss some of todays rain and see carts out in the near future. The driving range also remains closed as we are unable to put out the protective netting with the wet ground or prevent the balls from plugging.

Some important things happening around the Muni in the coming days are….

Wednesday May 4th- Men’s League registration deadline.

Sunday May 8th- Mothers Day Brunch at the Muni

Lastly on Sunday May 8th from 1pm to 3pm we will be hosting the celebration of life for long time employee Karen Petrie. Karen spent over 35 years working at the Muni and was the face of the Muni Pro-shop, serving and creating friendly relationships with thousands of Muni golfers over that period.

All Muni members past or present are welcomed in celebrating Karen’s life with the family.

Course Opening.

With cold temperatures all day today and until late afternoon Thursday, we will be pushing opening again until Friday at 10am. We know this isn’t ideal but we can’t see the good in opening the course for sub 5 degree weather, to just cause damage as the course remains very wet.

We are continuing to do everything we can to help dry the course. This includes squeegeeing puddles, and pumping water daily. Mother nature just doesn’t want to cooperate this Spring.

That being said we will be walking only once open, and hope to see the Driving range/carts soon after opening.

Cheers

Course Opening…

With Wednesdays high of 1 feels like -5 we have decided to push the course opening. We are hoping that we avoid most of the rain today and will be able to open come Thursday morning when it is 9 and sunny, but if we do receive a lot of rain today we will need to postpone our opening to Friday or Saturday at the very latest.

We were able to get a lot of work done this weekend on the course with all the beautiful weather, but holes like 4, 6, and 8 still remain unplayable from water still. So fingers crossed the rain misses us and we continue to see drying, as the rest of the week minus Wednesdays cold, looks like nothing but sun.

The Clubhouse’s is open from 8am to 4pm daily until opening, for anyone who wishes to still get a membership or for booking tee times. Our Men’s night registration deadline is also coming up fast on May 4th and all League info can be found on the website under the leagues header. We also look forward to the Ladies League Social night Tuesday night from 6pm to 8pm.

As the course hit bad with rain again on Thursday with rain, we hope that this morning we can avoid the rain and can see some major drying this afternoon and tomorrow in preparation for opening day.

With that said Wednesdays opening may get bumped back with Wednesday’s high of 2 degrees and the chances of rain today and Monday. We are continuing to do everything we can but if the course remains unplayable we will not open.

That being said Sundays weather looks amazing, and the clubhouse and patio will be open for membership purchases and anyone looking to enjoy a drink.

9Teen @ The Muni will also be serving up a Fried Chicken Special Sunday, along with their everyday menu filled with tons of tasty options.

Really hope to see everyone soon.
