Muni Minute

Hello Everyone

What a first weekend open! Even with the cold temperatures and no carts people had the itch to be out and we saw a steady amount of golfers. It was still a little wet and cold for myself but I totally understand having to scratch that itch. The course has been drying up nicely and we will officially let carts out as of today. (Please remember to follow all cart signs and keep carts 30 feet from tees and greens)

I still can’t give a firm date on the range opening, I know there are a lot of people wishing to get out and work on their swings but it still remains wet and we still need a little bit of work done at back on range before we can get net up and open. I apologize for any inconvenience but in the end we will have a way better range.

This is the last reminder for all the guys looking to play in the Men’s league we have a bunch of players signed up already but I have seen a lot of names who play every year that have yet to make their way in to register. We know its a late start to season and some of you chose to register first time at course but please try to make an effort to get in before Wednesday’s deadline so we can be ready for starting May 9th.

Dates to Remembers:

Wednesday May 2nd- Men’s Day Registration Deadline

Tuesday May 8th- 4pm-6pm- Ladies Night starts

Wednesday May 9th- Men’s Day starts

Wednesday May 9th- Opening Scramble registration deadline (register at Pro shop counter)

Saturday May 12th- 11am- Members Club opening scramble

We are Open!!! After what has been the longest winter ever, yesterday we were able to get the pins in and have golfers playing. The course still remains very wet though and today’s high of 4 is not helping the course dry up, so carts will remain off the course till at least Monday. Thank you to anyone who came out this week and helped rake a few piles, it has gone a long way in helping us get the course cleaned up as even the staff have been battling with the wet conditions.

A quick reminder that Men’s day registration is due by this Wednesday May 2nd, so that I can have time to put players list together and have our team draft. We are still also looking for team captains so anyone interested please contact me.

Hello Everyone

The weather has finally broke and the sun and warmer temperatures have started to arrive. Golf season is knocking!! With that our grounds crew has been out frantically trying to clean up the course and getting it ready for the season, but the course does remain very wet and has kept us from getting any machinery out.

The clubhouse is open this week from 9am till 3pm for anyone who wishes to drop in for coffee or to pay for memberships etc.. and I am going to open for walkers this FRIDAY!!!  Yes you are reading that correct this Friday at 9am will start the 2018 golfing season at the Muni. I still can’t give a date for carts and the range as they will fully depend on the course drying up.

Our annual Men’s day meeting on Wednesday night was successful and we have already seen lots of players signed up for the league. For anyone who missed the meeting and would like the information please feel free to contact me. The deadline for league registration is Wednesday May 2nd so that we can have time to draft teams before league play starts May 9th.

Hello Everyone

Just a quick mention of our member clean up on Saturday. Due to the fact I don’t think all the snow will be gone by tomorrow, we will be postponing it until till further notice. With that being said  if the snow does disappear and anyone does wish to walk out on course with a rake and make some piles you are more then welcome to as any little bit helps. Just make sure to have on some rubber boots as I can only imagine how wet it will be. Weather from here on in looks great moving forward and we can’t be far away from some golf at the Muni now.  Keep watching these newsletters and our Facebook page to see when the pins will go in.

See everyone soon

Hello Everyone

What a brutal weekend for weather, and another major set back to the season. I’m still hoping that all this snow and ice will be gone come Saturday and we can push forward with our Member Spring clean up, but as for opening the course for play it is now looking like late next week hopefully!!! I will however have the clubhouse open starting next Monday no matter what from 9:30am till 3pm for anyone who wants to stop in and have a coffee and catch up with some friends until we are able to get out and play.

Quick reminder that tomorrow Wed April 18th at 7pm is our Men’s day meeting, we will go over things such as tee sheet, league protocol, and sign up. I encourage as many interested players new or old to attend.

Spring is going to give us a little taste of warmth this Thursday only to follow it up with a Colorado low for the weekend bringing cold temperatures and a ton of rain. I am keeping faith that golf is right around the corner though and we have been chipping away at the course (when the weather has allowed us) trying to make sure that once the golfing weather does arrive we can get you out as fast as possible!! For the time being I am really hoping that we can have our member clean up day on Saturday April 21st at 10am, the support the last few years has been amazing and its a huge help in getting the course cleaned up for the season.

We have had some great volunteers out this week planting 25 new tree on the property. Thank you Dan Martin, Dean Sharp and Carol Sharp for digging these 25 holes and putting in the trees. Also a huge thanks to Riley Walsh Construction for picking up and delivering these trees. (Photos on Facebook page)

Now for the good stuff Opening Day!!! I have my eyes set on hopefully being able to open Saturday April 21st at 12pm following our course clean up. This is a very tentative date and if the weather turns before this we will try and get open prior, but if it gets worst I plan on being open Monday April 23rd no matter what!! Updates will be given as these dates near including cart status and range opening.

I hope everyone is as excited for the 2018 season at the Muni as I am and even though April has not been the month we have all been hoping for the predictions once this cold breaks look amazing for Golf.
